ANALYST II - FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Analyst II – Financial Planning & Analysis is to provide historical and forward-looking financial analysis, generate reports, and offer recommendations in partnership with executive management about improving property efficiency and company profitability.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and Nevada state law.  It is paid on a salary basis and is not eligible for overtime.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Compile and distribute company-wide Daily Operating Report while assisting with automation where needed.
  • Create forward-looking analysis to improve departmental performance or identify cost saving opportunities.
  • Fulfill and validate financial data for recurring reports, identify key trends and variances through thorough analysis, and then clearly summarize insights and actionable recommendations in concise commentary to inform and support leadership decisions.
  • Utilize available software to improve financial planning, analysis processes, and reports.
  • Generate and prepare findings, recommendations and commentaries for Forecast and Ad-Hoc analyses based on historical data.
  • Evaluate the financial feasibility of business ideas by analyzing key performance indicators and presents results to senior management.
  • Improve and automate current financial reports and processes.
  • Develop, evaluate, and review detailed annual operating budgets for various business units in accordance with corporate-wide goals and strategies and with input from Senior Leadership.
  • Create a timeline to complete tasks and department assignments or projects, and meet the deadlines related to those assignments.
  • Work on projects or services to help achieve the objectives of the department.
  • Evaluate information to render an opinion or act based on that information that will impact the department or functional area.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or another quantitative field.
  • Master’s degree in business administration preferred.
  • 1 years of analysis experience required.
  • Strong modeling experience within MS Excel preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • Critical thinking skills with a curiosity for improving current processes.
  • Detail oriented presentation skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across departments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 10 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
