COCKTAIL SERVER - LOUNGE

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Cocktail Server - Lounge is to provide an elevated guest experience in an upscale resort by delivering exceptional beverage service to all guests.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides a warm greeting to all guests, introduces themselves, and delivers attentive, personalized service throughout the entire visit.
  • Responsible for taking and delivering beverage orders promptly and accurately in accordance with lounge service standards.
  • Delivers an elevated guest experience by proactively identifying service opportunities and demonstrating strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
  • Know and execute the steps of service guidelines with extreme attention to detail.
  • Handles food service in specific lounge outlets.
  • Ensures clear and consistent communication with bartenders and assistant bartenders to guarantee accurate preparation and presentation of beverages.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, signature cocktails, wine selections, and specialty offerings to provide accurate information and personalized recommendations to guests.
  • Collects guest orders accurately and efficiently inputs them into the POS system.
  • Delivers an exceptional guest experience while increasing revenue through the effective promotion of daily specials, signature cocktails, wines, and other beverage offerings.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Actively contributes to achieving financial goals through strategic up-selling and guest engagement.
  • Develops expertise in the Venetian Rewards program to provide guests with clear and helpful information.
  • Keeps the lounge tables clean, orderly, and visually appealing by clearing debris and used glassware while maintaining brand-quality standards
  • .Food Safety is an essential function of this job. Maintain bar area in compliance with all OSHA regulations, SNHD standards, and company policies to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Secures and processes payments using a cash register or POS system, including handling cash, credit cards, suite charges, comps, and tips. Maintains accurate records of sales and guest transactions. 
  • Provides accurate directions and information for guests and is knowledgeable about all aspects of The Venetian Resort’s services, features, attractions, promotions, and special events.
  • Consistently maintain a professional, well-groomed appearance, posture, and hygiene in accordance with company standards.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned to support operational needs.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

Company Standards of Conduct

All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Health Card, Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card, and any other certifications or licenses required by law or company policy.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of cocktail service experience in a high-volume, cash-handling environment.
  • Strong knowledge of beverages, including high-end wines and champagnes by the glass, liquor brands, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, industry terminology, and garnishes.
  • Familiarity with customer ordering practices for beers, wines, and spirits.
  • Proficient in operating POS systems and handling all types of transactions (including suite charges, cash, credit cards, and comps) accurately and efficiently.
  • Superior customer service skills with the confidence to engage guests in a high-end, guest-facing environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Professional appearance, grooming, posture, and personal hygiene in accordance with company standards.
  • Previous experience in a poolside lounge, fine-dining, or nightclub setting preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests and team members of diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
  • Basic math skills required, including handling cash and making accurate change.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including overnights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

 

  • Safely lift or carry up to 25 pounds as needed for operational tasks.
  • Navigate all areas of the property, including guest and driving zones, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Maintain composure and professionalism under pressure while meeting service expectations and deadlines.
  • Engage effectively and courteously with guests, management, team members, and external contacts.
  • Stand, walk, bend, stretch, and kneel for extended periods during service.
  • Perform efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining high standards of guest service.
  • Work indoors while accommodating typical environmental conditions, including noise, dust, and exposure to cigarette smoke.
