Position Overview:
Join the world-class team at The Venetian Resort and play a pivotal role in creating unforgettable events. As a Catering & Conference Coordinator, you will be the key contact for meeting planners, ensuring every detail is flawlessly executed.
Critical to success in this role is the ability to maintain high visibility and provide proactive, on the floor support to ensure that groups receive the highest quality experience. This role is a critical component toward building strong relationships with clients. Creating lasting impressions will help drive loyalty and lead to repeat business.
Another critical responsibility is to protect the meeting space from damage, and to ensure its appearance is always the best it can be.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies,
practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure general appearance and condition of Congress Center is in proper order and quickly report maintenance issues to facilities.
- Work with Meeting Services, Facilities, and PAD to ensure all areas are coordinated and working in tandem to produce an outstanding Meeting Experience for our guests.
- Supervise and guide temporary staff to ensure professional conduct and adherence to company standards within the meeting space.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency on behalf of the building when responding to client requests.
- Display a passion for Guest Service and Operational Excellence at all times.
- Build strong, lasting professional relationships with the CCM team, all relevant Operational Departments, and with Meeting Planners alike.
- Promote teamwork and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Promote an atmosphere of team member empowerment and collaboration.
- Check all function space for proper lighting, temperature, cleanliness and digital functionality.
- Manage the posting of generic logos for groups through Populo.
- Send out reports to other departments as assigned.
- Manage Meeting Room Key Orders from beginning to end, including obtaining necessary signatures for clients and charging for unreturned Keys. Create BEOs in EBMS to post such charges.
- Fully responsible for communicating daily Escalator Schedules in the Congress Center, and to
- execute custom Escalator Schedules as requested by CCMs.
- Coordinate Equipment Rentals and create BEOs for the charges.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 21 years of age
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States
- College degree or degree within the Hospitality field preferred
- 1-year minimum experience in 500+ room Resort/Hotel preferred
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Alcohol Awareness Card (TAM) and a Health card and any other certifications or license, as required by law or policy.
- Working knowledge of both meeting room sets and basic catering functions.
- Must have a working knowledge of Word, Excel, MS Outlook - EBMS (preferred) – Social Tables (preferred).
- Able to read, understand, and interpret BEOs, GTD Sheets, and Client Specs
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:

- Lift or carry 75 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
- Physically access all areas of the property.
- Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
- Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
- Ability to work for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
- Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
- Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
