DIRECTOR - LEADERSHIP LEARNING

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Director – Leadership Development is to lead and energize the leadership growth initiatives of The Venetian Resort Las Vegas. This individual will champion and accelerate the growth of current and future leaders in a way that aligns with The Venetian Resort’s overall strategy, brand, and service culture initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in leadership development, a passion for people and culture, experience in large-scale hospitality, and the ability to partner with senior leaders to shape the culture and future of leadership in a dynamic organization.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Execute a comprehensive leadership development strategy that aligns with the long-term objectives of the organization.
  • Partner with senior executives and People Operations Business Partners to identify gaps and opportunities in leadership capabilities.
  • Drive a culture of continuous learning and development across the enterprise.
  • Shape and personally facilitate innovative leadership programs including onboarding for new leaders, emerging leader development, skill acceleration, and mentorship initiatives.
  • Regularly conduct dynamic, effective 1:1 coaching sessions with leaders.
  • Focus on blended learning solutions that align with operational priorities.
  • Create a leadership development landscape that is commercially relevant, scalable, and inclusive.
  • Maintain a pulse on industry trends, luxury standards, and emerging leadership best practices to ensure the organization remains innovative and best-in-class.
  • Oversee the talent management and succession planning process, including talent calibration and career pathing for leaders.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establish and report on KPI’s to assess program effectiveness and impact on business performance.
  • Collect, analyze, and apply data from multiple sources to continuously improve program offerings and outcomes.
  • Establish strong, collaborative relationships with vendors and internal partners.  
  • Manage program scheduling, budgets, expense reporting, and external partner relationships.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Evening work hours will sometimes be required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Hospitality Management, or equivalent relevant work experience preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in leadership development or talent management, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of designing and executing leadership development strategies in a complex environment.
  • Sophisticated facilitation, coaching, and presentation skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven success in training program design and evaluation.
  • Ability to influence and engage successfully with senior executives and high-performing teams.
  • An understanding of brand standards, luxury service culture, and leadership behaviors that drive exceptional Team Member and guest experiences.
  • Proficiency in learning technologies, assessment tools, and leadership frameworks.
  • Preferred: Experience in hospitality, premium brands, or similarly customer-centric environments.
  • Preferred: Experience and/or certification in executive coaching.
  • Must be able to obtain any certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
