DIRECTOR - MEETING & SHOW SERVICES

Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Director - Meeting & Show Services is to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all meeting services and show cleaning functions. This role ensures exceptional guest experience, maximizes profitability, and maintains compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. The Director is responsible for driving innovation, optimizing resources, and leading, developing, and supporting team members through effective staffing strategies and clear performance expectations. The Director is accountable for achieving departmental goals related to revenue growth, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Meeting & Show Services. This position directly supervises two or more Team Members with the authority to effectively recommend hiring, promotion, and termination decisions. This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and Nevada state law. It is paid on a salary basis and is not eligible for overtime.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for Meeting Services and Show Cleaning aligned with the resort’s overall goals.
- Lead departmental budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to achieve revenue and profit targets.
- Establish and monitor KPIs, including revenue growth to achieve monthly and annual departmental revenue targets, and operational efficiency to reduce labor costs annually without compromising service quality.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, event managers, and operational departments.
- Ensure all client requirements are communicated clearly and executed flawlessly across departments.
- Support leadership in directing all meeting services and show cleaning operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and Resort standards.
- Implement innovative processes and technologies to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service standards.
- Attend department meetings; assess, evaluate, and review data and reports for organizing assignments and Team Member scheduling according to workload and events.
- Create a culture of excellence, teamwork, and accountability within the department.
- Manage and improve employee productivity across multiple union-represented and non-union represented workgroups by applying performance standards fairly and consistently in alignment with applicable collective bargaining agreements and departmental operating procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license as required by law or policy.
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in meeting services, event operations, or hospitality management.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale events and cleaning operations in a luxury resort environment.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets.
- Advanced knowledge or event technology, sustainability practices, and operational efficiency strategies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to:
- Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
- Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
- Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.

- Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
