DIRECTOR - TALENT ACQUISITION & PEOPLE JOURNEY

Position Overview:

The Director of Talent Acquisition and People Journey is responsible for leading the full lifecycle of the team member journey, from attracting and acquiring top talent to fostering a positive and engaging work environment. This role will design and execute innovative strategies for both talent acquisition and team member experience, ensuring The Venetian Resort remains an employer of choice. This position directly supervises two or more Team Members with the authority to effectively recommend hiring, promotion, and termination decisions. 
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: 

  • Contribute to the short- and long-term strategies of the organization through the development and execution of comprehensive talent and engagement plans. 
  • Establish credibility with management and employees to be an effective influencer, listener, and problem-solver on people-related issues. 
  • Develop and monitor meaningful metrics to track the impact of talent acquisition and engagement initiatives on key business objectives. 

Talent Acquisition: 

  • Design and implement innovative talent acquisition strategies to attract and hire high-quality, diverse talent. 
  • Lead and mentor the talent acquisition team, fostering a high-performance and results-oriented culture. 
  • Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing and screening to interviewing, hiring, and onboarding. 
  • Develop and enhance progressive employer branding and recruitment marketing to position The Venetian as a top-tier employer. 
  • Leverage Technology to streamline recruitment process while creating efficiencies 

 

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

People Journey: 

  • Design and manage a yearly engagement plan targeting rewards, recognition, wellness, education, and service. 
  • Oversee and enhance the New Hire On-boarding program to ensure a world-class experience. 
  • Establish effective communication platforms that foster understanding and alignment with business objectives across the workforce. 
  • Act as a catalyst in promoting an environment that recognizes and rewards creative and innovative thinking. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age. 
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States. 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • An undergraduate degree is required for this position; an advanced degree is a plus. 
  • 7 years of increasingly responsible leadership experience, preferably in the hospitality, retail or other consumer-drive business required. 
  • Professional expertise in the development and/or implementation of programs in key areas of human resource management, including organizational and cultural development, performance management, succession planning, talent acquisition, communication, and Team Member engagement. 
  • Experience in business environments characterized by rapid growth and change of particular importance.  
  • Experience developing strategies to support, develop and engage a diverse workforce.    
  • Must be a hands-on professional with strong creative and conceptual skills, a proven track record in the management of complex issues in changing environments and exhibit a strong sense of urgency in exceeding company goals and objectives.    
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.   
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.  
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to: 

  • Lift or carry 10 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned. 
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation. 
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts. 
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts. 
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel. 
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment. 
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
