ENGINEER - QA

Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Engineer – QA is to ensure the quality, accuracy, and performance of integrated software systems within the hospitality and gaming environment. This role is responsible for executing both manual and automated testing strategies to validate Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and custom applications. The Engineer – QA works collaboratively with developers, business analysts, project managers, and product owners to support the delivery of reliable technology solutions that enhance the guest and team member experience.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design, write, and execute manual and automated test cases for integrated business applications (COTS & custom).
- Validate functionality across multiple systems, including loyalty platforms, point-of-sale, mobile apps, CRM, and other resort technologies.
- Document and track defects using Octane or similar tools; participate in defect triage and sprint planning sessions.
- Support regression, integration, and smoke testing across development and staging environments.
- Collaborate across IT, business operations, and vendors to ensure requirements are understood and met.
- Contribute to automated test suites using tools like Unified Functional Testing or similar.
- Maintain up-to-date QA documentation including test plans, test cases, and test results.
- Ensure compliance with internal SDLC, Gaming Control Board regulations, and SOX controls.
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- 3+ years of professional QA experience in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies (Agile, Scrum, DevOps pipelines).
- Hands-on experience with:
- Test case management tools
- Defect tracking tools
- Manual testing of APIs, UIs, and integrations

Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic proficiency in SQL for data validation.
- Experience with test automation frameworks.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Familiar with OWASP Top Ten
- Working knowledge of key ITIL processes – Continuous Improvement, Change, Incident, Problem, Release, and Service Request Management.
- Ability to work in both a team environment and independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to:
- Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
- Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
- Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
- Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
- Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
- Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
