ENGINEER - TOWER PAINT SHOP

Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Engineer – Tower Painter is to provide painting and general maintenance property-wide.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. This is a safety-related position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Daily maintenance of wallpaper, paint and furniture in hotel corridors and suites, retail areas, back of house and restaurants.
- Repair and repaint exterior patios and doors.
- Drywall, paint, wall covering, and specialty finishes.
- Prep work including paint removal, wallpaper stripping, masking, drywall repairs, etc.
- Performing decorative and faux finishes as locations require.
- Daily clean-up of work areas and tools.
- Management of daily assignments utilizing company issued mobile device.
- Handling and disposal of all hazardous waste associated with the shop.
- Maintain a current MSDS book.
- Safety is an essential function of this job.
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Driver's License and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- 5 years minimum “journeyman” experience in residential and/or commercial paint trade including drywall, paint, wallpaper, specialty finishes and furniture repairs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess general maintenance skills; knowledge of use of hand tools; ability to patch drywall and stucco; ability to use wallpaper tools; ability to mix and match colors; knowledge of brushing and rolling procedure.
- Ability to work from ladders.
- Knowledge of hazardous chemicals and safety processes.
- Must possess personal computer and data entry skills.
- Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to:
- Lift of carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks as assigned.
- Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
- Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
- Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
- Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
- Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
