EXPEDITOR - GUEST SERVICES

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Expeditor – Guest Services is to dispatch guests’ requests quickly and efficiently to the appropriate department contact. The Expeditor also acts as a liaison between Housekeeping and Front Office staff to ensure accurate updating of the guest’s suite status. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Relay guest requests to the appropriate personnel using proper forms and procedures.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.
  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond accurately to guest inquiries.
  • Ensure the proper handling of all laundry, floral and package items, including the maintenance of all relevant logs.
  • Post all Valet and shoeshine charges.
  • Ensure all Front Office unassigned/dirty suites are dispatched and updated in LMS system as well as in HotSOS.
  • Understand and follow guidelines for correct maintenance and use of equipment, and use equipment only as intended.
  • Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with hotel guests in a congenial and polite manner.
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company dress and grooming standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess the ability to focus attention on guest needs and deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Possess skills to expedite clerical processing, perform a service, evaluate information, and take action based upon information to complete a task or assignment or activity.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • At least (1) year of experience in a position that deals with customers one-on-one.
  • Ability to work with others, communicate well and give direction when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any required licenses, such as a valid Nevada Driver's License, Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card, etc. and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 25 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in seasonal heat (100F+) or cold as well as inclement weather or adverse weather conditions.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
