FOOD RUNNER - POOL SIDE RESTAURANTS

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Food Runner – Poolside Restaurants is to support the restaurant & pool team by delivering food items to guests in a friendly and efficient manner both in the poolside restaurants and at the pool decks. 

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

•    Delivers food items to guests.
•    Ensures food orders are delivered in an efficient and friendly manner.
•    Assists with running dishes from the restaurant and pool deck back to the kitchen.
•    Keeps all work areas clean.
•    Alerts the Server and/or Manager of any issues with Restaurant or guests.
•    Assisting with food preparation, as needed.
•    Assist with organizing and arrangement of product and tools 
•    Assisting the pool team with bussing and removing plates, silverware, linen, and debris from the pool deck, as needed.
•    Assist Chef on Duty with expediting--ensuring all orders are correct, garnishing hot food, presenting plates, loading trays, stocking and restocking the station, checking out, performing side work duties, and working as a team. 
•    Safety is an essential function of this job.
•    Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
•    Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 18+ years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Health Card or any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 1 year experience in a Restaurant or pool environment with food & beverage service. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience. 
  • Musst be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Must be able to:

  • Work is performed in an indoor/outdoor environment.
  • Temperatures vary between 40 -120 degrees.
  • Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
