Position Overview:
The Host - Lounge represents the first impression of upscale lounge venues, delivering warm, professional, and personalized service that reflects the luxury standards of The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Warmly welcome and attend to guests, delivering an elegant and professional first impression that reflects the establishment’s standards of excellence.
- Seamlessly manage and coordinate guest reservations, walk-ins, and seating arrangements to ensure a personalized and flawless guest experience.
- Maintain and manage UrVenue reservations with exacting attention to detail, ensuring VIP and invited guests receive prompt and distinguished service.
- Clearly and professionally communicate table and drink minimums, seating policies, and event details, ensuring guests are fully informed while preserving a refined and seamless experience.
- Ensure that paid reservations and those arranged through Casino Marketing and Management are granted access to designated seating with priority.
- Escort guests to their seating, introduce menus, and facilitate a smooth and refined handoff to servers.
- Coordinate closely with servers and the Manager on Duty to ensure optimal guest flow, efficient seating, and an elevated guest experience.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with event operations, including check-ins, group bookings, and buyouts, maintaining smooth coordination of guest lists, wristbands, guarantees, and seating flow.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, signature cocktails, wine selections, and specialty offerings to provide accurate information and personalized recommendations to guests.
- Uphold the cleanliness and organization of the hostess area, menus, and entryway, guaranteeing a refined and welcoming environment.
- Develops expertise in the Venetian Rewards program to provide guests with clear and helpful information.
- Food Safety is an essential function of this job. Maintain bar and lounge area in compliance with all OSHA regulations, SNHD standards, and company policies to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Provides accurate directions and information for guests and is knowledgeable about all aspects of The Venetian Resort’s services, features, attractions, promotions, and special events.
- Consistently maintain a professional, well-groomed appearance, posture, and hygiene in accordance with company standards.
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Perform any additional duties assigned to support operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Alcohol Awareness Card and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- 1 year work experience as host person in a sophisticated, high-end ultra-lounge or restaurant preferred.
- Exhibit phone etiquette, organizational skills, basic computer knowledge (incl. reservations management system) and food/wine service knowledge.
- Requires the ability to multi-task, work efficiently and within a team environment.
- Must have a basic knowledge of attractions/restaurants in the Las Vegas area and provided by The Venetian Resort.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Ability to stand or walk for the duration of an eight-hour shift, including wearing high heels when required.
- Capacity to access all areas of the property, including drive areas, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Maintain composure and professionalism under pressure while consistently meeting deadlines and service expectations for both internal and external guests.
- Demonstrate appropriate and effective interaction with guests, management, team members, and external contacts at all times.
- Physically capable of walking, standing, stretching, bending, and kneeling for extended periods as required by operational needs.
