Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Lead Clerk - International News II is to assist guests with their purchases in various retail locations. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Responsible for assuring the appropriate merchandising, stocking and cleanliness adheres to visual standards.
· Participates in the bi-annual inventories.
· Works closely with the Management to identify sales opportunities (e.g. weekend specials) and to adjust selling strategy accordingly.
· Focuses on Retail Department staff adhering to all policies and procedures and service standards.
· Assists guests in the selection of merchandise, while maintaining The Venetian Resort’s hospitality standards.
· Ensures consistent maintenance of sales floor stocking and rotation of merchandise.
· Receives and processes merchandise shipments from the warehouse and other store locations.
· Comply with policies and procedures of the department or section in order to complete service satisfactorily.
· Provide a service and assistance for others and expedite processing as necessary, and provide expertise based on information keyed, gathered, studied, processed or reviewed.
· Completion of a task or assignment requires use of equipment, tools or systems related to the proper performance of the service.
· Safety is an essential function of this job.
· Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
· 18 years of age (21 in stores selling alcohol).
· Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Must be able to obtain and maintain [list required licenses, such as a valid Nevada Driver's License, Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card, etc.] and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
· Previous experience in retail sales preferred. Knowledge of Micros a plus.
· Must be able to handle multiple guests and have excellent customer service skills.
· Working knowledge of stock keeping and store maintenance a must.
· Must be able to work independently.
· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
· Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to VCR appearance standards.
· Maintain consistent adherence to the VCR Unmatched Guest Service Standards.
· Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to: · Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
· Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
· Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
· Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
· Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.

· Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
