MANAGER - EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN (EMT) PROGRAM

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Manager – Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program is to be responsible for building and sustaining a high-performance, patient-focused culture that emphasizes safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement. This role provides leadership and strategic oversight of the EMT Program, ensuring compliance, quality, and operational excellence.

In addition, the Manager – Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program actively supports and participates in the development and execution of crisis and emergency management readiness programs and processes to safeguard guests, team members, and property assets.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. This is a safety–related position.           

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the delivery of emergency medical services for guests and Team Members through the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program, ensuring quality care, compliance with protocols, and operational excellence.
  • Ensures that Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) maintain professionalism, operate within protocol, maintain compliance with regulations, and receive adequate initial and ongoing training relative to their assignment. 
  • Standardize patient care delivery through clearly defined protocols, policies, and SOPs to ensure consistency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Reviews industry best practices and brings forward recommendations for enhanced performance and productivity.
  • Direct and manage the Total Quality Management (TQM) framework in partnership with Medical Direction.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Medical Director, Shift Operations, Risk/Legal, Worker’s Compensation, HR, and Safety teams on all EMT Program matters.
  • Will participate in reviewing, developing, and implementing comprehensive business continuity plans to effectively prepare for and manage response and recovery efforts for various crises/emergencies. 
  • Develops and facilitates reality-based scenarios and table-top exercises involving The Company’s decision makers and other key personnel. 

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Will have a working knowledge of the Security Department’s mass notification system. 
  • Will participate in maintaining and operating the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
  • Liaisons with the Security Training Team, property Fire Command Center personnel, property Safety Director, Security Leadership Team, Company Team Members, and other EMT stakeholders within the hospitality industry/local and federal government.

  • Develops and administers training to Team Members within The Company. 
  • Develops and maintains policies and reports related to EMT preparedness and response.
  • Oversee the supply chain management of medical equipment and PPE, ensuring availability and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, forecast needs, and recommend improvements in staffing, training, and resource allocation.
  • Defines and oversees implementation of goals, policies, and procedures for the team. 
  • Preserves the general safety and security of the property’s guests, Team Members, and physical assets. 
  • Edits/corrects daily payroll if necessary.

  • Maintain professional skills by staying abreast of current developments and participating in developmental programs within and outside the company.
  • Communicate with other members of management to share/assist with dissemination of pertinent information, policy and procedure changes, and job-related information.
  • Ensure safety practices are followed and reports completed.
  • Communicate regularly with other managers about changes, observations, and recommendations.
  • Monitor individual performance of direct reports and team members and conduct performance appraisals to enhance skill sets.
  • Counsel, mentor, coach and, if needed, discipline staff on sub-standard performance.
  • Oversee Physical Capacity Profile (PCP) evaluations for new hires when certified
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card, Nevada Gaming Control Board registration, Nevada State Driver’s License, American Heart Association (AHA) Certified in CPR and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • 5 years of experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in security within a hotel hospitality environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in emergency medical service delivery as an Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in emergency medical service delivery as an Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as a certified Emergency Medical Services Instructor (NREMT, NAEMT, CAPCE, etc.) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing presentations and presenting to large groups.
  • Working knowledge of Southern Nevada Health District regulations and protocols.
  • Working knowledge of FEMA protocols.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of diverse backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
