MANAGER - NATIONAL SALES

Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Manager - National Sales is to develop and contract business opportunities/accounts that align with the Company’s desired customer profile to meet and exceed quotas and financial objectives as set by Management.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Meet and exceed quotas and financial objectives set by Management.
- Effectively solicit all existing, prospective target accounts and qualify (leads) within defined market segment, resulting in closing contracts through effective contract negotiations that align with meeting company’s financial objectives.
- Develop and maintain account base of business which produces revenue for Company.
- Timely customer follow up and qualification on assigned leads and follow through on commitments.
- Implement sales action plans and follow through for the development of designated market segment that include (but not limited to) telephone, direct mail solicitation, alliance partnerships, social selling, tradeshow participation and related sales trips and entertainment.
- Manage effectively within the defined sales roles, internal sales processes and procedures.
- Effectively position all the benefits of the property (verbally and/or written) by aligning our unique insights to customer key priorities.
- Engages the customer by deliberately linking their business priorities to our value proposition that differentiates us from our competitive set.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Become a subject matter expert by obtaining a deep knowledge of current economic trends, industry trends, regulations and potential new business opportunities within designated vertical market(s) where applicable.
- Understand the customer buying process, can identify multiple key meeting influencers and roles within the process and demonstrates the ability to steer conversations, manage and take control of the buying process to a favorable outcome while maintaining company/financial objectives.
- Ability to clearly communicate and articulate ideas externally and internally at the account and opportunity level that are innovative and supported by reliable data.
- Accurately forecast and report sales pipeline.
- Regularly and independently engage with cross-functional departmental leaders and teammates to understand product and services available to Groups and how the Hotel differentiates itself from the competitive set.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Travel and participate in sales calls, site inspections, entertainment, networking events, training (as assigned) midweek, evenings and weekends as needed.
- Enter required data into CRM system to document all pertinent daily Sales activities, cataloging account and client information accurately as defined by department SOP’s.
- Effectively work within the structure of the defined Sales and RISE (Revenue Integrity Sales Evaluation) Processes to effectively evaluate and process sales contracts.
- Use additional tools provided to rapidly evaluate and identify qualified inbound lead opportunities that have the potential to meet business objectives.
- Safety is an essential function of this job.

Company Standards of Conduct
All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.
- This position is on-site. However, remote work may be considered for candidates residing in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area (DMV).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- 5 years of professional hotel sales experience at a luxury property.
- 2 years of experience selling large complex group business, either at property of sales office.
- Must possess the following; Contract Negotiations, Customer Relations, Presentation, Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Strong Communication, Strong Listening, Time Management and Organization Skills.
- Requires evenings and weekend travel and networking.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Must be able to:
- Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
- Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
- Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
- Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
- Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
- Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
