Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Porter - Starbucks is to flex into any role that may be required based on business. Porter – Starbucks is solely responsible for brewing and preparing all cold brew, and for maintaining a clean and safe working environment by removing all trash and debris. Porter – Starbucks receive and stock all deliveries and run product to the other Starbucks locations whenever needed. Porter – Starbucks must be certified as a Starbucks Barista and therefore create the Starbucks experience for our customers by providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products always and must model and act in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for receiving and putting away all deliveries from warehouse and Starbucks direct, for both Venetian and Palazzo locations. Assist in maintaining par levels and reporting back to management when ordered items are missing or damaged.
- Responsible for brewing and prepping all cold brew for both locations, as well as preparing, maintaining and breaking down the Nitro bike before and after rental periods.
- Provide quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Follows health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
- Remove all trash and cardboard boxes from both locations as needed, and keep cleaning towels stocked at all times.
- Flex into any position in either store when business requires.

- Run product between stores whenever necessary.
- Act in a way that promotes the culture, values, and mission of Starbucks.
- Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard.
- Anticipate customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customer cues.
- Assist with new team member training.
- Deliver legendary customer service.
- Follow Starbucks operation policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all Team Members during each shift.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace so that Team Members can locate resources and product as needed.
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 18 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Health card and any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- Must hold a Starbucks barista certification.
- Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to our customers’ needs through clear and pleasant communication.
- Comply with a dress code that prohibits displaying tattoos, piercings in excess of two per ear, and unnatural hairs colors, such as blue or pink.
- Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for our customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients, or substituted ingredients.

- Ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed.
- Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to build relationships.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to:
- Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
- Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
- Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
- Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
- Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
- Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
