SPECIALIST - TEAM MEMBER AND LABOR RELATIONS

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Specialist – Team Member Relations is to assist management and Team Members with issues, questions, communication and/or policies and procedure concerns.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides guidance, consultation and clarification of Company policies and procedures.
  • Conducts due process meetings, peer reviews, interviews, investigations and mediation to resolve all matters in a timely fashion.
  • Adheres to the Company’s status quo third party representation philosophy, complies with company policies, and legal requirements.
  • Consistently meet deadlines pertaining to completion of investigations, investigatory summaries and the issuance of corrective actions as set by management and/or agreed upon with department leaders.
  • Supervises the delivery and measurement of guest service consistent with the Company’s core service standards, brand attributes through the Team Member Survey and feedback sessions.
  • Meets with department leaders to provide updates, communication roadblocks and to obtain feedback on departmental goals.
  • Documents and maintains notes, reviews and drafts reports and summaries of Team Relations issues.
  • Prepares unemployment paperwork.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of EEOC/NERC responses, timelines and confidential investigative files.
  • Provides analysis of EEO and Workforce statistical data.
  • Reviews corrective counseling and performance paperwork.
  • Participates in department panel interviews, assists with other areas of HR and in Team Member events.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • PHR certification preferred.
  • 3 years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist or similar role in Employee Relations.
  • Working knowledge of Labor Relations, Employee Relations, Worker’s Compensation, Title 7, EEOC, ADA, FMLA, HIPPA, COBRA, Wage and Hour and Unemployment Law.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
