SR MANAGER - PROCUREMENT

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Senior Manager – Procurement is to work with the cross-functional requesting team for best-in-class sourcing and contracting of goods and services for selected categories.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support cross-functional departments to ensure that technical and business requirements flow through to sourcing, contracting, and procurement with suppliers.
  • Demonstrates excellent people mastery with strong negotiation skills in selected categories envisioning long term financial and service gains by crafting sourcing recommendations and contracts to best control future risk. 
  • Leads complex negotiations with key suppliers.
  • Provides solid and constructive inputs and able to influence and ensure stakeholders comply with company sourcing policies at all times.
  • Directs the strategy and tactics for major contracting and tender evaluation work ensuring compliance with policy. 
  • Deals with middle and high level stakeholders and maintain good working relationship with senior executives.
  • Work with suppliers and internal departments to strategically source, negotiate best in class contracts, and achieve the most favorable results for the organization.
  • Meets with stakeholders regularly, understands stakeholders business roadmap, challenges and opportunities. Supports stakeholders in long term strategic planning. 

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct meetings with suppliers and stakeholders for long term category strategies’ planning and continuous effort in cost savings.
  • Creates and amends the sourcing and tendering process. 
  • Possess a working knowledge of all department and company policies and procedures and Rules of Conduct and must enforce the same.
  • Work on actual project or service to help achieve the objectives of the department.
  • Focus on achieving the goals or objectives of the department using available resources.
  • Evaluate the schedule or timelines related to the completion of assignments, while maintaining service and/or product quality.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Mimimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in a Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 7 years of procurement, supply chain management, or relevant category experience with good process management results or strategic sourcing experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have experience in and have previously negotiated and implemented large contracts.
  • Must have a solid and demonstrated understanding of contract language; both commercial and legal terms.
  • Ability to drive selection of suitable suppliers and comprehensive supply base management.
  • Strong leadership skills to work with various departments to help better define needs and source competitively while adhering to company contracting principles.
  • Ability to handle various and numerous contracts (MSAs, SOWs, etc.) with varying degrees of scope
  • Strong sourcing experience in selected categories. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
