SUPERVISOR - GONDOLA & ENTERTAINMENT RETAIL

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Supervisor – Gondola and Entertainment Retail is to supervise and train the gondola ticketing staff, provide excellent customer service, and oversee the daily operations of the gondola attraction and entertainment retail merchandise.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily supervision, coaching, and training to team members, fostering a positive and high-performing team environment
  • Make recommendations for progressive discipline of team members who fail to meet job expectations, and recommend team members for recognition for outstanding performance.
  • Manages entertainment retail (concert) merchandise operations.
  • Implements and monitors revenue initiatives and cost-saving measures as directed.
  • Fosters staff development through regular coaching, feedback, and training programs.
  • Effectively resolves any guest issues.
  • Maximizes ticket sales.
  • Coordinates rotations of gondola rides.
  • Audits transaction discrepancies.
  • Assesses, evaluates, and reviews data for organizing projects and/or providing direction on activities, tasks or processes in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Works with mail room and warehouse to ship and receive show merchandise.
  • Works with merchandise vendor to provide equipment and supplies as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 1 year of cash handling experience.
  • 1+ year of retail experience preferred.
  • Previous management experience supervising ten or more employees preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
  • Advanced reading, writing, and mathematical skills are required.
  • Ability to observe and recall details and effective decision-making, social and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
