TECHNICIAN - SLOT

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Technician III - Slots is to keep all slot machines in proper working order to minimize down time on the floor and to maximize floor space revenue.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs repairs on the Casino floor and in the slot repair shop.
  • Fixes reel problems and clears coin and bill jams.
  • Conversions of machine models and denomination.
  • Assists slot personnel with machines when needed.
  • Performs shop repairs on slot machines.
  • Repairs and rebuilds all mechanical and electronic slot game components
  • Attends in-house training in troubleshooting, repair of PC boards, progressive units, and test equipment with higher level Technician or Slot machine Vendor.
  • Circulates on the casino floor to fix any problems that occur with slot machines.
  • Keeps machines clean and in proper working order.
  • Must have understanding of the Cummins Jetsorts.
  • Troubleshoots and repair player tracking system.
  • Operates Kobetron for verifying E-proms.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides hands-on-training on all gaming devices and related systems.
  • Interacts with Senior Slot Technician regarding day to day operation of all gaming related equipment.
  • Advise and assists Slot Tech II’s and Trainees.
  • Completes all paperwork in accordance with Nevada Gaming Regulations and approved Venetian Resort Hotel Casino standards.
  • Assess, evaluate and review technical operation for the purposes of organizing the repair or troubleshooting of potential repair, and/or providing direction on work, tasks or processes in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Ability to learn new technology through various media and training from new equipment vendors. Read, comprehend, and comply with all applicable policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Read and comprehend parts manuals, schematics, and multi meters.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Gaming Control Board registration, and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 5 years slot technical experience and have completed gaming tech school.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electronic equipment associated with gaming.
  • Must have complete knowledge of gaming devices and related systems.
  • Must have working knowledge to make machines changes, updates and modifications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.

  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
