TRAINING SUPERVISOR - EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM

Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Training Supervisor – Emergency Response Team is to be responsible for creating Training Curriculums, SOP’s and overseeing all scenario-based training for the Emergency Response Team.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. This is a safety–related position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor the performance of the Officers – Emergency Response Team during scenario-based training, and is responsible for the development, implementation, and delivery of the Emergency Response Team training programs and activities.
- Comply with regulatory standards, laws, and requirements of requisite agencies with appropriate systems/processes.
- Development of training material and routine armed officer training and qualification; development and maintenance of training forms and records; and the development and implementations of ad hoc training programs to address specific departmental needs.
- Coordinate, update, and prepare policies/SOPs for review and signature by senior-level Security leadership.
- Coordinate and interface with various Departmental leaders.
- Coordinate effective, timely and efficient handling of workload to assure that deadlines are met.
- Develop, implement, and deliver training material and programs as required by the Department.
- Conduct training exercises and training programs on a variety of topics including, but not limited to, firearms training, CPR/BLS and other subjects as may be required by the department.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Meet and confer with Company and Departmental personnel, as well as counterparts at other properties and local governmental officials, in furtherance of training goals and objectives.
- Maintain professional skills by staying abreast of current developments and participating in developmental programs available within and outside the company.
- Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
- Ensure that required records and files are maintained and reviewed on a regular basis for auditing purposes.
- Communicate with the Departments Training Manager to share/assist with dissemination of pertinent information, policy and procedure changes, and job-related information.
- Ensure safety practices are followed and reports observed.
- Communicate regularly with the Security Manager of the ERT team about changes, observations, and recommendations.
- Monitor individual training and actively participate in performance reviews to enhance skill sets.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Counsel, mentor, coach and, if needed, discipline Officers on sub-standard training performance.
- Ensure policies and procedures related to training remain current.
- Review all training records to ensure all training dates are current.
- Safety is an essential function of this job.

- Maintain instructor certifications in CPR/BLS and defensive techniques (DT).
- Meet the department’s armed qualifications.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws pertaining to law enforcement and gaming.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work in plainclothes or SST Team Supervisor role during business demands

Company Standards of Conduct
All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves out in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements, and rules of conduct.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- High school diploma.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, security management, administrative or organizational leadership, or similar field, or equivalent college education and/or related experience is preferred.
- Able to obtain/possess a valid Nevada Driver’s License, Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration, Techniques of Alcohol Management (TAM Card), and concealed carry firearms permit (CCW) at their own expense.
- Previous experience with Hotel or Casino security preferred.
- Working knowledge of general first aid and CPR.
- Working knowledge of Windows-based computers including Power Point, Excel, and Word.
- Prior experience with teaching and adult learning preferred.
- Strong people skills with the ability to communicate effectively with other Team Members of diverse backgrounds and levels of experience and high-level customer service with guests.
- Work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to:
- Lift a minimum of 50 pounds to shoulder height; push and/or pull 200 pounds and stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Work indoors and outdoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke, variations in weather.
- Bend from the waist, crouch, stretch, kneel, climb, twist and crawl without restrictions and perform eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel.
- Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
- Pass physical agility test.
